On 26-27 November 2016, Swedish cities will hold commemorative services and evenings of remembrance of the victims of the genocide of the Ukrainian people - the Holodomor of 1932 – 1933 committed by totalitarian repressive Stalinist regime, and 1921 - 1922, 1946 - 1947 famines in Ukraine.
On 26 November, at 16:00 Kyiv time, in support of the all-Ukrainian action “Light a Candle”, the Embassy of Ukraine and NGOs of Ukrainians in Sweden will light Candles of Memory - symbols honoring more than 10 mln. of Ukrainians, innocently murdered with famine.
On 26 November, at 14.00 in Göteborg (Järntorget Sq.) the Ukrainian Community in Göteborg will honor victims of holodomors and will hold a minute of silence at 16:00.
On 27 November, at 15.00 in Stockholm (Lidingö, Ansgarskyrkan) the Ukrainian Women Organization in Sweden will requiem for the innocent victims of holodomors. The service will be conducted by Archpriest Mateus Maria Furemalm and Archpriest Mykola Kapitula from St.Pokrova Cathedral in Rivne. The requiem evening will continue the remembrance of the murdered Ukrainians.
