29 January – 5 February 2011 the group of Ukrainian scolars from the Bakhchisaray Local History Museum and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine visited Stockholm in the frames of the joint project of the Embassy and the Swedish Institute on researches of the historic letters from the Crimean Khans to the Swedish monarchs preserved in the National Archives of Sweden.
During their work the Ukrainian scolars have made digital copies of the “Tatarica” collection. It was also agreed that the archive will provide the Bakhchisaray museum with the digital copies of those letters which stayed unfolded for three hundred years and therefore have not been researched. Some facsimiles of these letters will be forwarded to the Ukrainian museum as well.
The Ukrainian scolars have also met Ambassador of Ukraine in Sweden Yevgen Perebyinis, Director for project department of the Swedish Institute Åsa Lundmark, Deputy Director for the National Archives of Sweden Anna-Karin Hermodsson.
