On December 4-5, 2025, the Swedish-Ukrainian-Lithuanian Defence Industry Forum: Baltic to Black Sea was held in Stockholm (Kingdom of Sweden).
The Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Sweden, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Kingdom of Sweden, and the Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association (SOFF) jointly organized the event.
The top-level representatives of defence ministries and leaders of the defence industry companies of the three states took part in the Forum.
They discussed issues related to: increasing European capabilities in financing defense needs; promoting defense innovations and the use of dual-use technologies; expanding capabilities in the field of the latest developments of drones and solutions to combat them in modern wars.
Ukraine was represented at the high-level panel discussion by Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Yurii Myronenko and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Sweden Svitlana Zalishchuk. They briefed the participants in detail on: the development of the security situation in Ukraine; outlined Ukraine’s needs that can be strengthened through cooperation in the field of defence industries; and called on the participants to further consolidate efforts, the ultimate goal of which should be to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in Ukraine as soon as possible. In turn, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Sweden Peter Sandwall emphasized that the European defense industry, against the backdrop of the ongoing russian military invasion of Ukraine, is not just a supplier of military equipment, but also a defender of the European way of life, actively contributing to the preservation of peace and stability. Therefore, Sweden will continue to demonstrate its sincere readiness to support Ukraine in its struggle for its independence. The Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania Edvinas Grikšas noted the importance of strengthening key areas of cooperation between Ukrainian, Lithuanian and Swedish defence industry companies, which will only facilitate the exchange of information in the field of developing innovative technologies to support Ukraine's defence capabilities.
