On 24 September, Stockholm hosted European Day of Languages. The event was organized under the auspices of the European Commission. 

For the first time, "Ukrainian Institute in Sweden" participated in the festivities and presented Ukrainian language to Swedish pupils and students. Throughout the day, volunteers of the Institute helped visitors to learn Ukrainian alphabet, phonetics, writing rules and spelling. 

European Day of Languages is celebrated annually, on 26 September, and is focused on strengthening language identity of the European nations, respect for cultural and ethnic variety. 

A Ukrainian stand, key historic events in Ukrainian-Swedish relations and modern development of Ukraine, were presented to the audience.
