April 15th 2010 Ambassador of Ukraine in Sweden Yevgen Perebyinis met prof. Kerstin Sahlin, Vice Chancellor of the oldest in Scandinavia Uppsala University.

During the meeting perspectives of further cooperation between Ukrainian and Swedish universities were discussed.

Taking into consideration the significant number of Ukrainian students studying in Uppsala University, possibilities of their involvement to the events organized by the Embassy and Ukrainian community in Sweden.

The issue of restoring Ukrainian language teaching in the university was discussed.

Ambassador expressed appreciation to Uppsala University’s library which preserves in its funds the old printed editions of the Bible of Ostrog, as well as works by Ukrainian famous poets Meletiy Smotrytsky and Pavma Berynda. These are evidences of long history of relations between the Uppsala University and Ukraine.
