October 15th, 2011 in the Uppsala-City theatre the premiere of the “Mefisto” by the Ukrainian director Andriy Zholdak took place which was called the event of the theatre event of the autumn.

“Mefisto” is directed after the novel of the known German writer Klaus Mann, son to the Noble Laureate in literature Tomas Mann.

“Mefisto” is the first performance by Andriy Zholdak in Sweden. Before that his performances has been going in 17 countries of the world. Last year his “Anna Karenina” in the city of Turku, Finland was nominated the best performance of the year. At that time Andriy met the leadership of the Swedish theatre who invited him to perform in Uppsala.

The premier was visited by Ambassador of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Sweden Yevgen Perebyinis with the family and other diplomats of the embassy.
