A high-level Ukrainian delegation comprising experts involved in the energy efficiency and energy management chaired by Mr. Oleksandr Dombrovsky, MP, Acting Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Fuel and Energy, visited Sweden this week to learn about experiences from Sweden’s green transition.
The achievements of Ukraine in the energy sector and the available investment potential has been comprehensively presented by the members of Ukrainian delegation in the framework of the "First Sweden Ukraine Bioenergy Forum 2018" which was held on October 23 in Stockholm. The event has confirmed a huge potential for further development of cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of bio- and renewable energy.
The unique Swedish experience of implementing energy-saving technologies might be extremely useful for further expansion of dialogue on energy efficiency in Ukraine, emphasized Ambassador of Ukraine to Sweden Ihor Sagach, stating that the newly adopted Energy Strategy of Ukraine for the period up to 2035 will contribute to reducing Ukraine's energy dependence and to grater development of use of alternative energy sources.
The delegates had also the opportunity to visit Vattenfall Waste state-owned plant in Uppsala and E.On privately-owned recycling complex in Högbytorp in the north of Stockholm in order to get acquainted with the innovative technological solutions in the sphere of household waste recycling in Sweden.
The visit was organized by the World Bioenergy Association with the support of the Swedish Bioenergy Association and the Embassy of Ukraine in Sweden.
