On 10-14 December 2017, a visit to Stockholm and Uppsala was paid by delegation of St.Sophia National Reserve, chaired by its Director General Nelya Kukovalska.
Meetings with Director General of the Swedish National Heritage Board Lars Amréus, Deputy Director General of the Swedish National Heritage Knut Weibull, National Program Manager and EU-coordinator of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, Head of Department of The Swedish History Museum Kent Andersson, leadership and staff of Uppsala Science Park and Uppsala University Innovation program, were held.
Issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation with St.Sophia National Reserve were discussed.
Particular attention was drawn to the support of Ukrainian-Swedish scientific, research cooperation and professional dialogue between curators, historians, philologists, art and restoration work specialists.
During the visit, sides discussed practical means and ways of sharing best methods in preserving UNESCO World Heritage objects from destructive effects of the global warming and environmental threats.
Authentic manuscripts, digital copies and archives of the times of dynasty marriage of Swedish Princess Ingigerd (Olofsdotter, daughter of Swedish king Olof Shötkonung), wife of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, were especially discussed with the view to providing direct access to Ukrainian and Swedish historians, who research political, economic and social ties of the Kyivan Rus times.
