On 23-24 October 2017, the first ever Ukrainian Music Festival in Sweden “Rethinking Europe: Ukraine” will be held in Stockholm.
During two evenings in two prominent music halls in Stockholm 150 young talents from Ukraine and Sweden will perform their musical pieces. The following talents will be present on the stage: the oldest and the most famous Ukrainian children’s choir “Shchedryk”, Swedish Adolf Fredriks Musikklasser Farsta, INSO Youth Orchestra from Lviv Filharmonin and young soloists - winners of international musical competitions.
Among many of the Ukrainian children are those whose families had to flee the Eastern Ukraine following the Russian military aggression. In Stockholm they will have a firsthand opportunity of presenting their talents and performing along with the famous Swedish musicians Andrea Tarrodi, Natalya Pasichnyk, Jakob Koranyi.
The audience will also be presented a special piece by Andrea Tarrodi “Songs of the Sky” - Concertino based on a Ukrainian and Swedish folk melodies.

Inaugural concert where the Ukrainian children's choir “Shchedryk” meets their Swedish friends from Adolf Fredriks Musikklasser Farsta. Many children in the choir are Ukrainian internally displaced persons, who experienced the horrors of the war and here, in Stockholm, they will speak with the words of music, show how to build friendship ties with Swedish children in a concert about music and humanity.

The Ukrainian children's choir “Shchedryk”, Adolf Fredriks Musikklasser Farsta, INSO Youth Orchestra from Lviv Filharmonin and five young soloists - refugees from war in Donbas - meet in a great final Gala concert and perform along with Sweden's famous musicians Andrea Tarrodi, Natalya Pasichnyk, Jakob Koranyi.
